I am a Professor (Professeur des université) at the Eurecom Graduate School and Research Center, located in Sophia Antipolis on the French riviera. My research interests include most aspects of system security and in particular the areas of binary and malware analysis, reverse engineering, computer forensics, and web security. I am also part of the International Security Lab .

When I have time (sadly not too much lately) I like playing hacking competitions. I am one of the founding members of the Shellphish hacking group, with whom I participated to ten DEFCON CTF finals in Vegas (winning in 2005). When I was a post-doc in the security group at UCSB, I also helped to organize several editions of the iCTF competition.

When I am not in front of my computer, I like to climb rocks, surf waves, hike trails, and take pictures along the way.

For more information about current funded projects and conference PC memberships please see here .

If you are a student and you want to work with me, or need a recommendation letter, please read carefully the applicants page.
